Trims and Powertrains

There are two Elantra Hybrid trims to choose from: Blue and Limited. Both have a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine that pairs with a 32-kW electric motor to create 139 combined horsepower. The 6-speed dual-clutch EcoShift transmission supplies power to the front-wheel drivetrain, while the Drive Mode Select allows the operator to choose from Sport, Smart, and Normal modes. According to the EPA’s official estimations, the Blue achieves 51 mpg in the city and 58 mpg on the highway, while the Limited still shines at 49 mpg city and 52 mpg highway.

Standard Features

The value-centered Blue has proximity key with push-button start, cloth upholstery, a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, four USB charging ports (two per row), a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, the advanced Bluelink+ Connected remote access system, a hands-free smart trunk release, dual-projector LED headlights, heated side mirrors with integrated turn indicators, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The Limited adds H-Tex (leatherette) upholstery, 8-way power-adjustable driver and passenger seats that are both heated and ventilated front seats, a sunroof, wireless device charging, the Hyundai Digital Key 2.0, driver seat and side mirror memory, 60/40 split fold-down rear seats, LED taillights, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Advanced Driver Aids

Both trims come with a comprehensive suite of driver-assist technologies collectively known as SmartSense. This package contains blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic avoidance, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, a rearview camera, lane following assist, driver attention monitoring, lane keep assist, rear occupant alert, safe exit assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and intelligent speed limit assist. The Limited adds forward and reverse parking sensors, enhanced forward collision avoidance to assist with junction turning, highway driving assist, and smart cruise control with stop-and-go capability.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Elantra Hybrid’s infotainment system has a 10.25-inch high-resolution touchscreen, plus navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, HD Radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, Wi-Fi hotspot access, and Bluetooth connectivity. While the Blue gets a simple sound system, the Limited is upgraded with a premium 8-speaker Bose sound system with a subwoofer and center channel, plus dynamic voice recognition software.
