2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

Since its debut in 2018, Hyundai’s N Line (now simply called N) has taken some of the automaker’s top nameplates and transformed them into high-performing, uniquely styled variants. The hallmarks of this racing-inspired model include sport-tuned steering and suspension, a robust powertrain, premium tires, and upgraded interior elements.

The original Ioniq 5 had already been turning heads with its fast charging times, hyper-modern design, and tech-heavy cabin, and now it’s gaining attention as Hyundai’s first electric vehicle to receive an N version. Simply put, the 2025 Ioniq 5 N is fun to drive, boasting 641 horsepower, 568 lb.-ft. of torque, and an eye-popping 0-to-60 mph-time of 3.25 seconds. Like any other new Hyundai, this one is covered by America’s Best Warranty: a 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty, a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain protection, a 10-year/100,000-mile hybrid/EV battery warranty, and a 7-year anti-perforation (rust) warranty, plus 5 years of 24-hour roadside assistance.

Powertrain, Performance, and Charging

The 2025 Ioniq 5 N’s all-wheel drive powertrain consists of dual motors, a 697 V lithium-ion battery pack, and a single-speed reduction gear transmission. With N Grin Boost and a host of other N-exclusive performance equipment, this crossover generates an astounding 641 horsepower and 568 lb.-ft. of torque. The EPA has officially estimated its fuel economy ratings at 72 combined MPGe, with a range of 221 miles. The Ioniq 5 N comes with both a Level 2 onboard charger and an ultra-fast charger for the ultimate convenience. Using AC Level 2 charging, the Ioniq 5 N will go from 10 percent capacity to 80 percent (10.9 kW) in approximately 7 hours and 20 minutes. To recharge on the go, DC fast charging will give it 80 percent power (350 kW) in roughly 18 minutes.

Standard Features

The Ioniq 5 N differentiates itself from the original Ioniq 5 model with gloss-black and orange accents, forged 21-inch alloy wheels, and N-exclusive designs across the front and rear bumpers, grille, side skirts, rear diffuser, and spoiler. Its other exterior features include proximity key entry, Pirelli high-performance tires, heated power-folding side mirrors, flush door handles (automatically retracting), rain-sensing windshield wipers with aerodynamic wiper blades, a hands-free power liftgate, LED lighting (projector headlights/daytime running lights/taillights/high-mount center stop light), and Hyundai’s vehicle-to-load technology (meaning small electrical devices and tools can be plugged in to it and run off its battery).

High-end materials are found throughout the interior, including a heated steering wheel wrapped in perforated leather, Alcantara leather seating surfaces with synthetic leather trim, and more N-exclusive elements such as lightweight sport bucket seats, “N” logo embroidery, side sills, and sport alloy pedals with left-foot braking capability. The cabin also has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, heated and ventilated front seats, dual automatic temperature control, wireless device charging, 64-color ambient interior lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, and five USB ports (three front/two rear).

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Nearly every Hyundai SmartSense driver-assistive technology can be found onboard the Ioniq 5 N. Up front is the most comprehensive version of forward collision-avoidance assist with car/cyclist/pedestrian detection and assistance with oncoming lane change, junction turning and crossing, evasive steering, and side lane change. It also has a blind-spot view monitor, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, high beam assist, navigation-based smart cruise control, driver attention warning, highway driving assist 2, lane following assist, and lane keeping assist.

Entering and exiting the parking lot gets easier with a surround-view monitor, parking distance warning (forward/side/reverse), parking collision-avoidance assist (reverse), and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist. Finally, advanced rear occupant alert helps to ensure that no one gets left behind, while safe exit assist detects vehicles that are approaching from the rear.

Infotainment and Connectivity

At the center of the 2025 Ioniq 5 N’s cabin is a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen with high-performance N pages and settings, onboard navigation, and an EV technology display. A Wi-Fi hotspot comes standard, along with wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, dynamic voice recognition, Hyundai Pay, Digital Key 2, and Bluelink connected car services. HD Radio and SiriusXM (3-month trial) are streamed through a Bose premium audio system.
