2025 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid
The 2025 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid should be on the radar of anyone interested in the practicality of a
midsized sedan and spending less time (and money) at the gas pump. With an eye-popping EPA-estimated
fuel economy rating of 44 mpg city and 51 mpg highway, it’s perfectly suited for commuters and
anyone who just wants an efficient daily driver. But great mileage isn’t the only thing it’s got
going for it. The ’25 Sonata Hybrid looks and feels upscale, with standard adaptive cruise control
and heated front seats (they’re available ventilated as well), a 24.6-inch digital display, and
available leather upholstery. On top of all that, this car is surprisingly
affordable.
Hyundai sweetens the deal with its superlative warranty coverage: 5 years/60,000
miles of limited coverage and 10 years/100,000 warranty on the powertrain. The value-added
3-year/36,000-mile complimentary maintenance plan includes oil changes, tire rotations, and
multipoint mechanical inspections.
Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Economy
The 2025 Sonata Hybrid comes in a pair of trim choices, SEL and Limited. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a 39kW electric motor (combined output: 192 horsepower) form the powertrain with a six-speed automatic transmission that manages the front-wheel-drivetrain. As advertised, excellent fuel usage is a main attraction, with the Sonata Hybrid rated by the EPA to achieve an estimated 44 miles per gallon in town and 51 mpg on the highway.
Standard Features by Trim
The SEL offers a rich array of amenities including proximity keyless entry, heated power-adjustable front
seats, Digital Key 2, push-button start, a 4.2-inch gauge cluster, a leather-wrapped steering wheel,
cloth upholstery, wireless phone charging, two zones of automatic climate control, a pair of USB-C
ports, and a 60/40-split fold-down rear seatback with a retractable armrest. The exterior showcases
heated power-adjustable side mirrors, a hands-free smart trunk, automatic LED headlights, plus LED
taillights and daytime running lights.
You’ll be living the good life in the Limited with genuine
leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a 12.3-inch LCD gauge cluster, a heated steering wheel, a
panoramic sunroof, a rearview mirror (auto-dimming), rain-sensing windshield wipers, 64-color ambient
interior lighting, LED interior lights, and manually operated sunshades for the rear side windows.
Safety Technology
SmartSense, Hyundai’s comprehensive driver-assist technology suite, comes standard in the ‘25 Sonata Hybrid. Its components include lane keeping assist, lane following assist, forward collision-avoidance assist (with cyclist, pedestrian, and junction-turning detection), adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, driver attention warning, blind-spot collision warning, safe exit warning, rear occupant alert, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, and high beam assist. The Limited is also endowed with a surround-view camera, a live-feed blind-spot view monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist (self-parking technology), highway driving assist, reverse parking collision-avoidance assist, and parking sensors for the front, side, and rear.
Staying Connected and Entertained
A 12.3-inch touchscreen houses the Sonata Hybrid’s infotainment system, which brings together Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and Bluetooth hands-free phone use and audio streaming. Both trims are also set up with Hyundai’s Bluelink+ connected car services. The standard upgrades to the Limited are integrated navigation and a top-shelf Bose sound system with a dozen speakers.
