2026 Hyundai Santa Fe
Hyundai’s three-row Santa Fe enters 2026 with its square-shouldered look and family focus intact. But
there are a few changes to speak of: it now has a smoother-shifting conventional eight-speed
automatic instead of last year’s dual-clutch unit. The interior keeps the wide, horizontal theme and
big screens, but everyday convenience takes a step up: the Limited and the adventure-oriented XRT
add dual wireless device charging, while third-row USB ports have been added to the SEL and XRT.
Another XRT improvement is the addition of Terrain Mode for driving in mud, snow, and sand. On the
luxury side, the Limited now has standard second-row captain’s chairs (a bench for three people
remains available), and the top-end Calligraphy gains an elegant Pecan Brown Nappa leather
upholstery option.
Every 2026 Hyundai comes with America’s Best Warranty, which includes five
years or 60,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper protection and ten years or 100,000 miles of powertrain
safeguards. Owners also receive three years of standard scheduled maintenance, five years of
roadside assistance, and a complimentary subscription to Bluelink+ connected services. There’s also

Trims and Powertrains
The Santa Fe range of the SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy remains familiar, with each trim built around a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (output: 277 horsepower) that’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard on most trims, with all-wheel drive (AWD) an option; the XRT comes only with AWD. The EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings for all but the XRT are 20 mpg in city driving and 29 mpg highway with FWD (28 mpg with AWD). The XRT is estimated to deliver 19 mpg around town and 25 mpg on the open road. When it’s properly equipped, the Santa Fe’s towing capability peaks at 3,500 pounds on the non-XRT trims; the XRT can pull up to 4,500 pounds. The cargo area measures 14.6 cubic feet, but you can fold down the third row to get 40.5 cubic feet, and fold both rear rows flat for a potential of 79.6 cubic feet.
Features by Trim Level
The base SE has seven-passenger seating (via a second-row bench) with fabric upholstery and surprising extras like a hands-free power liftgate, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, and LED exterior lighting. It also gets rear privacy glass, a leather-wrapped wheel, a tilt-and-telescopic column, second-row air vents, a 4.2-inch driver display, four USB ports, heated side mirrors, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The SEL is improved with H-Tex (leatherette) upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power driver’s seat, integrated side mirror turn signals, third-row air vents, wireless charging, raised roof rails, and Hyundai Digital Key. Purpose-built for light-trail duty, the XRT expands on the SEL with a tougher look thanks to darkened exterior accents. From a functional standpoint, the XRT’s 30-inch all-terrain tires give it an additional 1.5 inches of ground clearance. A 115-volt outlet in the cabin adds flexibility for camping or tailgating. The Limited switches its focus to comfort with leather upholstery, a dual-pane sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a power front passenger seat, a heated steering wheel, heated second-row outboard seats, a driver’s memory system, and six-passenger seating via standard second-row captain’s chairs (a three-person bench is optional). The Limited’s amenities include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, power-folding side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, rear-door sunshades, third-row USB ports, dual wireless device charging, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The six-passenger Calligraphy goes truly upscale with quilted Nappa leather upholstery, a massaging driver’s seat, a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, and 21-inch wheels.
Safety Technology
All trims are equipped with a set of airbags, stability control, traction control, downhill brake control, hill start assist control, and a rearview monitor. Hyundai’s SmartSense driver-assistance suite is also standard, supplying forward collision-avoidance assist (with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction turning detection), lane-keeping and following assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance warning, and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist. Adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, driver attention warning, rear occupant alert, and safe exit assist are included as well. Aside from the SE, every trim has a driver attention monitor; the XRT and above also get Highway Driving Assist (for steadier lane centering and distance control on longer trips). As the most loaded trims, the Limited and Calligraphy are equipped with a surround-view monitor, a blind-spot view monitor, reverse parking collision-avoidance assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The centerpoint of infotainment in the ’26 Santa Fe is a 12.3-inch display that’s upgraded to a touchscreen with integrated navigation in the XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy. The standard components are wireless smartphone connectivity (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) and Bluetooth. Each trim is set up for Hyundai’s Bluelink+ connected services for emergency support and other features. The more basic six-speaker audio system in the lower trims is upgraded to a 12-speaker arrangement in the Limited and Calligraphy.
