Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon in Fredericksburg, VA
Are You #Motivated2run ?
It’s that time of year again. The Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon is coming to Fredericksburg, VA on May 17,2015, and this year Pohanka Nissan of Fredericksburg wants to know, are you #motivated2run? Why? Because I am motivated 2 run. What motivates you? Is it the satisfaction of completing the 13.1 miles of a half marathon? Is it taking on the legendary Hospital Hill? Maybe you are the one doing the motivating? No matter what, now is the time to lace up your shoes and hit the pavement.
This 13.1 mile race takes place in historic Fredericksburg, VA, which is located halfway between Richmond VA, the capitol of the Commonwealth, and our nation’s capital in Washington, DC. Though the race weaves through historic neighborhoods, the most talked about aspect of this race is the legendary Hospital Hill. As you approach the end of the race, right between mile 10 and 11, you will begin your ascent up a 200 ft. rise. This hill is notorious for keeping racers away from the finish line, just over the top.
Hospital Hill is located next to Mary Washington Healthcare, if you feel the need to practice before the race begins. Practice might be in your best interest if you want to guarantee your best time. If that isn’t enough to get you #motivated2run, than perhaps you will find an extra kick in your step knowing that the winners of this race could qualify for a coveted place in the 40th Marine Corps Marathon in October, 2015.
Perhaps what motivates you is just the desire to finish the Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon. Then you can pace yourself for the final challenge of conquering Hospital Hill as you meander through historic Fredericksburg, VA. Take notice as you pass historic landmarks and former homes of our founding fathers. Enjoy your run, keep at it, and you will be reaping the reward of a finishers medal at the finish line.
If you find that cheering and supporting your loved ones as they run is more your style, then what’s a better way to do that than to show your support through one of Pohanka Nissan of Fredericksburg’s “Cheer Vehicles”? These new Nissans will be placed throughout the race with words of encouragement for the racers on the windshields. Your message could be displayed the day of the race. For more information about how your message can be present, check out Pohanka Nissan of Fredericksburg’s Facebook page.
Are you motivated to run? Why? Because I Am motivated 2 run. What motivates you? Get out there for the Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon and show why you are #motivated2run.
