You'll also find more ways to avoid dangerous scenarios. New packages make the features more accessible to more buyers.
The Santa Fe Sport has one of the peppiest engines in its class. New in 2017, it offers high torque to keep this big ride rolling. For 2018, this powertrain will generate 185 horsepower. Recognizing that driving enthusiasts always want more, Hyundai added a turbo with 260 lb.-ft. of torque to ensure quick acceleration. Drivers will like this 240-horsepower engine on the 2018 Santa Fe Sport.
Trims and Packages
The 2017 roster of three trims continues in 2018. The base edition offers a remarkably good package that includes a touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity and a USB port. The large cargo hold can be expanded with a 40/20/40 split rear seat. This gives you more combinations for people and cargo. For 2018, Hyundai has bundled consumer favorites into an affordable value package. This makes it easier for shoppers to get a bigger touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. These features, which were new to the 2017 menu, greatly expand what a user can do with the touchscreen system. It also adds push button start, a dual-zone programmable thermostat, and heated front seats. The driver’s seat also gains power adjustments for your comfort. The exterior picks up roof rails, foglights and heated side mirrors. Still want more? A new Premium equipment package adds an auto-dimming rearview mirror and color information screen for the driver. The front passenger gets a power chair. Everyone enjoys the benefits of lush leather upholstery. Backseat riders will appreciate the reclining and sliding seats as well as the rear side window sunshades. You can get a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, and ventilated front seats with the new Tech package. This also adds a bigger touchscreen with navigation and a 12-speaker Infinity system.
For 2017, the Santa Fe Sport earned the coveted five star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It also was the first Sport to offer automatic high beams, adaptive headlights, or an electronic parking brake. The 2017 Sport also had adaptive cruise control, a lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking on its menu for the first time. For 2018, a blind spot monitor is easier to get now that it is part of the Premium package on the lowest priced trim level. If you want help with parking, the new Tech package includes a top-down camera system. It also has rear parking sensors. The Ultimate Tech package bundles all of the crash avoidance features. Drivers will appreciate having a system that warns them if the vehicle strays out of its lane or is in danger of colliding with stopping traffic. The autobrake may prevent a fender bender or a bigger crash.
